A is for ABAETE


Launched in 2004, Abaeté (Ah-bye-ah-tay) started as a small resort collection from French Brazilian designer Laura Poretzky. Made up mainly of dresses, the line is understated and feminine, but never froufrou.

I found this picture of my mother at Castel in Paris in 1971 in which she looked so gorgeous with long blonde locks and her black off-the-shoulder dress. She completely embodies the spirit of Abaeté with her Brazilian sensuality, French femininity and, most of all, her gorgeous smile.
